Mazda Spirit Racing To Make Production Debut At 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon
At the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024, Mazda officially launched its motorsports brand, Mazda Spirit Racing with a pair of show cars. These two, a soft top MX-5 and a Mazda3, made the rounds including an appearance at the Mazda Fan Festa. At the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon, Mazda is finally ready to offer it for commercial release as a special model.

Hyundai To Make Performance Parts For N Models
Hyundai is doubling down on its high-performance Hyundai N brand by unveiling a range of N Performance Parts for the Ioniq 5 N at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon of all places. In effect, they managed to outshine the other significant performance EV SUV at the show—the Nissan Ariya Nismo.

Subaru Teases Sharper Handling WRX STI Sport# For Japan
Subaru is using the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon to launch the WRX STI Sport# (Sport Sharp). Not to be confused with the all-out WRX STI, the WRX STI Sport# is basically a STI Lite—similar to BMW’s M Sport and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG Line models.

The Subaru Levorg Sport # Is The Closest Thing We'll Get To A WRX STI Wagon
At the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon, Subaru used the annual tuning show to present the Levorg (local market WRX Wagon) tweaked by their in-house tuner, STI. Known as the Levorg STI Sport, it featured handling enhancements led by the brand’s first use of electronically-controlled dampers. Three Tokyo Auto Salons later, Subaru is bringing a sharper version of their fast grocery-getter appropriately named the Levorg STI Sport Sharp (stylistically written as Levorg STI Sport #).
